Configuration Editor Window

The Configuration Editor window is used to modify the values of a configuration. A configuration is a set of parameters that control aspects of a crawl.

The basic configuration is called the Default configuration. You can open the Default configuration in the editor, but any modifications to it can not be saved. You must create a custom configuration to implement different values.

To create a custom configuration use the Configurations Window to make a new configuration, or duplicate an exisiting configuration. Then you can edit this configuration and save the changes.

There are several panels for modifying related values. These are described below.

The Default configuration works well for most websites. There are times when you may want to tweak the parameters to achieve a specific result. This is especially true when you want to restrict the crawl to specific portions of the website.
